Ruth Vega, professor of the IE School of Architecture and Design, and her team of Cuartoymitad Arquitectura have been awarded the COAM 2014 AWARD  for their work Zinc Shower 2013. Cuartoymitad developed the ephemeral architecture and spatial arrangement for the event Zinc Shower in Matadero  Madrid. Zinc Shower Meeting-Show is a unique and transforming event generated by the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs).

More than 4.000 m2 transformed with a very low budget in order to accommodate a wide range of activities during 3 days. 150 custom exhibitions stands, 7 stages and 2 workshop spaces where entrepreneurs, professionals, investors and companies meet to support innovation, collaboration, training, financing and entrepreneurship in the CCI sector.

The aim of Cuartoymitad was to develop a flexible and low-cost system, easy to assemble and disassemble, with the ability to transform an empty space into a place desgined for creativity. We designed a unique piece made of folded cardboard, easy to custom, that served as a divider, shelve, scenery and photocall. These cardboard pieces permit freely its transformation and customization. As a result of it , 150 different exhibition stands, sceneries and dividers were set up to represent creativity and innovation. COAM is the Association of Architects from Madrid.
