SHIGERU BANEl proximo miercolés 20 de marzo, IE inaugura su nuevo pabellón, edificio temporal diseñado con tubos de cartón por el arquitecto japonés Shigeru Ban. Con motivo de esta inauguración, IE School of Architecture & Design en colaboración con la Japan Foundation, ha organizado una conferencia de Shigeru Ban, titulada “Appropriate Architecture” ese mismo día 20 de marzo a las 19,00 horas en el propio pabellón, en la calle Serrano 99, Madrid.

La conferencia esta abierta al público. Se ruega confirmar al email dean@ie.edu

On that day, IE School of Architecture & Design in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, organize a lecture by Prof. Ban “Appropriate Architecture” that will take place on the same March 20th at 19:00 at the proper Pavilion, C/ Serrano 99, in Madrid

IE School of Arts and Humanities en colaboración con la Asociación de Antiguos Alumnos del IE organiza la conferencia titulada El reto de la cultura colaborativa; instituciones culturales y redes socialesel miércoles 30 de Mayo a las 19.30 h, impartida por Susana Zaragoza.

Susana Zaragoza es productora e investigadora en el ámbito de la cultura digital y el arte colaborativo. Licenciada en Periodismo, obtuvo un MA en  Nuevos Medios por la Universidad de Ámsterdam. Desde 2005 trabaja como consultora independiente en el ámbito de la industria y la cooperación cultural.

Los museos, centros de arte y otras instituciones culturales públicas y privadas han incorporado de forma rápida y en muchos casos, poco planificada, el uso de las redes sociales como herramientas de difusión, comunicación y expansión de su actividad cultural. Sin embargo, las redes sociales no son más que el espejo virtual de una transformación de los formatos culturales, del auge de la participación y del nuevo rol de las audiencias tradicionales. ¿Son conscientes las instituciones de los nuevos modelos colaborativos que promueven con el uso de las redes? ¿Están preparadas para integrar las potencialidades, dilemas y conflictos que se originan de su uso? Esta presentación ilustrará con ejemplos, las diversas formas en que las instituciones se adaptan, se resisten o se transforman al integrar las herramientas tecnológicas en sus programaciones.

La conferencia se impartirá en el aula E-108 de IE Business School, situada en c/ María de Molina, 4.

IE University and The Chronicle of Higher Education have announced that they will be joining forces to organize a conference on Reinventing Higher Education: The Role of the University in a Global Society, set to take place on October 18 of this year at IE’s Madrid campus. The event is in line with the markedly international approach of IE University, launched in 2008 by leading management educator IE Business School. 

The conference will be structured around a series of panels comprised of some 25 thought leaders, university administrators, policy makers, entrepreneurs, academics, student representatives, and media experts, who will discuss the current status and future evolution of higher education (HE), and debate the direction that research, learning, governance and management of universities should now take.

Speakers this year include Lisa Anderson, President of The American University in El Cairo; Nigel Thrift, Vice Chancellor of Warwick University; Martha Mackenzie, President of the Oxford Student Union; Francis Vérillaud, Vice President of Sciences Po; Matthew Gutmann, Vice President of Brown University; and David Van Zandt , President of The New School (NY).

Topics for debate will include:

  • Ways in which universities can contribute to human and social development in the developing world
  • How to teach students to work in cross-cultural, international teams
  • How university research has to be reshaped to work on the world’s most difficult and important problems

  • The increased mobility of students, faculty and institutions, with the definition of international partnerships and cooperation, branch campuses, etc.
  • The new student profiles, versed in new technologies, entering the field with new skills and attitudes towards learning.

 IE University y The Chronicle celebrarán una conferencia conjunta sobre educación superior

IE University y The Chronicle of Higher Education han anunciado la organización de la conferencia Reinventando la educación superior: el papel de la Universidad en una sociedad global, que tendrá lugar el 18 de octubre en el campus del IE en Madrid. El evento se enmarca dentro de las actividades de carácter internacional de IE University, institución lanzada en 2008 por IE Business School, líder en la enseñanza de negocios y management.

La conferencia se estructura en torno a una serie de paneles compuestos por unos veinticinco líderes de opinión, administradores de universidades, responsables políticos, empresarios, académicos, representantes de estudiantes y expertos en medios de comunicación, que discutirán sobre el estado actual de la educación superior y su evolución futura. Además, reflexionarán sobre si es necesario un cambio de dirección en ámbitos como la investigación, el aprendizaje, la gobernanza y la gestión de las universidades.

The Prince of Wales, President of the Youth Business International Foundation, met with young entrepreneurs and senior executives at IE in a workshop debate on entrepreneurialism.

Prince Charles visited IE Business School this morning to meet with young entrepreneurs and senior executives in the Youth Entrepreneurship Seminar, a workshop focused on the challenges facing entrepreneurialism. The seminar was organized by IE and Youth Business International (YBI), a UK foundation presided by the Prince of Wales. The Prince was received by Diego del Alcázar, President of IE Business School, Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, Dean of IE, and Juan José Güemes, President of IE Business School’s International Center for Entrepreneurial Management. 

As a world leader in the field of entrepreneurship, IE Business School organized the Youth Entrepreneurship Seminar to explore the current status of entrepreneurship in global terms, including the challenges facing entrepreneurs, the problems they face, and the impact of public policies. During the event, Juan José Güemes presented the main findings of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report, a survey of entrepreneurial activity carried out in 59 countries worldwide, the Spanish edition of which is coordinated by IE Business School. Andrew Devenport, CEO of Youth Business International, explained the main lines of action undertaken by the Foundation to support entrepreneurs and business organizations.  Read more…
