Tomorrow, Wednesday the 6th of February, the Investment Club of the university has organized a special seminar given by Mr. Andrew Hazell, a consultant with more than 20 years of experience advising IPOs and financial transactions of international major corporations.    Mr. Hazell will be focusing on how to manage PR in the face of stock market fluctuations to shareholders and the public at large.   

For those who are interested in attending, the seminar is open to non-club members and will start at 15:00 in the Refectory of the university campus in Segovia with a special half-hour introduction by Sara Farooqi, professor of finance and ex-investment banker.    Mr. Hazell’s seminar will begin at approximately 15:45 and last about an hour.  Following both presentations, there will be a Q&A session with an opportunity to network over a catered selection of coffee and pastries. 

More regarding Mr. Hazell: 

“Andrew started the agency Asesores 2000 in 1988 along with two prominent Spanish journalists and founded Dédalo Comunicación in 2002. Previously he worked for Alumax Corporation. Andrew specialises in multinational and financial clients and has worked on most of Spain’s privatisations beginning in 1989. He has advised on more than 15 large financial transactions and IPO’s over the last ten years and dealt with numerous crisis situations over the last decade. Andrew was educated at the University of Missouri where he studied Business Administration, and later studied at  St. Louis University in Madrid. 

Dédalo works with Spanish and multinational companies in Spain and Latin America such as Telefónica, Repsol, Goldman Sachs, Fidelity Investments, Blackstone and Starbucks, among others.”

IE University presents its new academic initiatives at Aula 2012

For the next academic year the university will have two new degrees in International Relations and Finance and will expand its university activities in Madrid with its Business Administration (BA) programme and the dual degree in Business Administration and Law

IE University takes part of the in 20th edition of the Salón Internacional del Estudiante y de la Oferta Educativa (AULA), which is to be held in Madrid from February 22 – 26th in Hall 3 of IFEMA.

AULA 2012 brings together more than one hundred exhibitors who show the largest number of educational opportunities to students, teachers and counsellors in the academic world. This makes the Salón Internacional del Estudiante y de la Oferta Educativa one of the most important events on the education market in Spain.

IE University will present at AULA 2012 its educational initiatives for the academic year 2012/2013. Specifically, IE University will is launching two new degrees and is expanding its activities in Madrid, like for example its degrees in International Relations, Finance, Business Administration (BA) and its dual degree in Business Administration and Law.

IE’s Bachelor in International Relations offers an integral and practical education that combines political science, economy, international law and business administration, under the aegis of IE School of Arts and Humanities.

The Bachelor in Finance permits students to understand the changes taking place in the finance system on a global level, and their ramifications. The degree program has been developed based on the experience of IE Business School, which achieved 3rd position worldwide in the Financial Times ranking of Masters in Finance. Furthermore, various international institutions, including the CFA Institute, the global association of professional investors, recognize it as one of the best schools in the world in the field of finance.

The first two years of these two new English-taught degree programs will be taught at the Segovia campus, and the following two years in Madrid.

IE University presenta su nueva oferta académica en Aula 2012

El próximo curso la universidad contará con dos nuevos grados en Relaciones Internacionales y Finanzas  y ampliará oferta universitaria en Madrid: Administración de Empresas (ADE) y su doble grado en ADE y Derecho 

IE University participa en el Salón Internacional del Estudiante y de la Oferta Educativa (AULA), que se celebrará, en su vigésima edición, en Madrid desde el 22 al 26 de febrero en el Pabellón 3 de IFEMA. 

AULA 2012 acoge a más de un centenar de expositores, que muestran la mayor oferta educativa a estudiantes, profesores y orientadores del mundo de la educación. En este sentido, el Salón del Estudiante se configura como el más importante acontecimiento del mercado de la educación en España.

IE University is to extend its program portfolio for the upcoming 2012/2013 academic year with new bachelor degrees in Finance and International Relations, as well as running sections of its Bachelor in Business Administration and its Dual Degree in Business Administration and Law at its Madrid campus.

The new degree titles will form part of IE’s current portfolio of degrees in Business Administration, Architecture, Biology, Communication, Law and Psychology. Thus the University will further strengthen its education model, renowned for its global, humanistic and flexible approach, with a special focus on shaping future entrepreneurs.

International Relations and Finance

At present, over 60% of IE University students are from outside Spain. Its faculty comprises professors with international profiles, who teach over 1,000 students from 75 countries around the world.

IE University impartirá dos nuevos grados en Relaciones Internacionales y en Finanzas 

IE University ampliará su oferta académica el próximo curso 2012/2013 con nuevos grados en Finanzas y Relaciones Internacionales y ofrecerá en Madrid su Grado de Administración de Empresas y su doble Grado en ADE y Derecho. 

De esta manera, IE incorpora nuevas titulaciones en su ámbito de especialización a su actual oferta de grados en Administración de Empresas, Arquitectura, Biología, Comunicación, Derecho y Psicología. Con ello, refuerza su modelo educativo de carácter internacional, humanista, flexible y con vocación de formar futuros emprendedores. 

Relaciones Internacionales y Finanzas:

El grado en Relaciones Internacionales destaca por una formación integral y práctica que combina la ciencia política, la economía, el derecho internacional y la gestión empresarial, y cuenta con el respaldo de IE School of Arts and Humanities.

El Grado en Finanzas permitirá a los alumnos comprender las ramificaciones y los cambios del sistema financiero a nivel global. Este grado contará con la experiencia de IE Business School, que se situó el año pasado en segunda posición a nivel mundial en el ranking de Masters in Finance de Financial Times. Además, varias instituciones internacionales como el CFA Institute, la asociación global de inversores profesionales, la reconocen como una de las mejores escuelas del mundo en este campo.

Estos dos nuevos grados en inglés se impartirán los dos primeros años en el Campus de Segovia y los dos siguientes en Madrid.

 “Con esta expansión de nuestra oferta académica queremos facilitar la llegada de nuevos  talentos nacionales e internacionales y contribuir a preparar futuros graduados capaces de impulsar el cambio en cada una de sus especialidades”, asegura Salvador Carmona, Rector de IE University.
