Tomorrow, Wednesday the 6th of February, the Investment Club of the university has organized a special seminar given by Mr. Andrew Hazell, a consultant with more than 20 years of experience advising IPOs and financial transactions of international major corporations.    Mr. Hazell will be focusing on how to manage PR in the face of stock market fluctuations to shareholders and the public at large.   

For those who are interested in attending, the seminar is open to non-club members and will start at 15:00 in the Refectory of the university campus in Segovia with a special half-hour introduction by Sara Farooqi, professor of finance and ex-investment banker.    Mr. Hazell’s seminar will begin at approximately 15:45 and last about an hour.  Following both presentations, there will be a Q&A session with an opportunity to network over a catered selection of coffee and pastries. 

More regarding Mr. Hazell: 

“Andrew started the agency Asesores 2000 in 1988 along with two prominent Spanish journalists and founded Dédalo Comunicación in 2002. Previously he worked for Alumax Corporation. Andrew specialises in multinational and financial clients and has worked on most of Spain’s privatisations beginning in 1989. He has advised on more than 15 large financial transactions and IPO’s over the last ten years and dealt with numerous crisis situations over the last decade. Andrew was educated at the University of Missouri where he studied Business Administration, and later studied at  St. Louis University in Madrid. 

Dédalo works with Spanish and multinational companies in Spain and Latin America such as Telefónica, Repsol, Goldman Sachs, Fidelity Investments, Blackstone and Starbucks, among others.”

We are pleased to inform you that IE library participated at the 77th IFLA General Conference and Assembly that was held in San Juan de Puerto Rico.

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession. IE Library, as a member of IFLA, is actively involved in working groups to help develop standards and guidelines, participates in meetings, seminars and workshops where they discuss important issues with professionals around the world.

The topic of the conference: Libraries beyond libraries, Integration, Innovation and Information for All, presented a single framework to integrate the efforts of all units of information, to meet and satisfy the information requirements of all. 

IE Library is proud to participate in this kind of events that allow us to bring knowledge and experience as well as to share information and promote collaboration, to make possible the improvement of the access to information service at regional and global levels.

La IFLA (Federación Internacional de Asociaciones de Bibliotecarios y Bibliotecas) es el principal organismo internacional que representa los intereses de los servicios bibliotecarios y de documentación de sus usuarios. Así como el portavoz a nivel mundial de los profesionales en el sector de bibliotecas y documentación. La Biblioteca IE, como miembro de la IFLA, colabora activamente en los grupos de trabajo,  donde ayuda a desarrollar normas y directrices; participa en reuniones, seminarios y talleres, donde se discuten asuntos importantes con profesionales del sector alrededor del mundo.
