IE University has launched a series of innovative program-based open days aimed at providing future candidates with information on the different bachelor degrees that form part of its program portfolio. The open days are designed to create a platform where pre-university students and their families can meet to find out more about the IE University programs they are most interested in.
The first open day, set to take place on March 6, will focus on the Bachelor in Business Administration. Participants will be able to learn more about this program, which started running in the fall of 2009 and is taught in both Spanish and English at the Segovia campus.
The program of activities for this first open day includes a business simulation based on oil prices, led by IE’s Dean of Bachelor Programs, Martin Boehm. He will be accompanied by the University’s Associate Director of Admissions, Julián Montaño, and the Academic Director of the Bachelor in Business Administration, Amy Kellehar.
The Bachelor in Business Administration is aimed at high-potential students with an entrepreneurial mind-set and a marked capacity for leadership, who want to learn at an academic institution that enjoys international recognition as a world leader in the field of business education.
In addition to these open days IE University runs virtual information sessions, in line with its commitment to new technologies. These sessions enable any person, at any location in the world, to get detailed information on IE University programs, scholarships and extracurricular activities for students.
The cycle of theme-based open days will continue on March 13 (Architecture y Biology) and on April 17 (Communication, Art History and Psychology). OPEN DAY TEMÁTICO
IE University inicia unas jornadas novedosas de carácter temático con el objetivo de informar a los futuros universitarios de cada uno los bachelors que componen su oferta académica. En estas jornadas especiales, IE University abre sus puertas para que estudiantes preuniversitarios y sus familiares compartan un espacio de encuentro con los alumnos y profesores de las diversas titulaciones.
El primer grado que iniciará estas sesiones, abiertas al público, será el Bachelor in Business Administration, el próximo sábado 6 de marzo. Las personas que acudan a IE University conocerán, de esta forma innovadora, este grado universitario sobre administración de empresas en inglés y en español que se imparte en el Campus de Segovia desde el curso 2009/2010.
Del programa de actividades de esta primera jornada temática destaca una simulación empresarial sobre los precios del petróleo, que correrá a cargo del decano de estudios de grado de IE Business School, Martin Boehm. También intervendrán el Director Adjunto de Admisiones de IE University, Julián Montaño y la Directora Académica del Bachelor en Business Administration, Amy Kellehar. El Bachelor in Business Administration está dirigido a estudiantes con alto potencial, carácter emprendedor y capacidad de liderazgo, que quieran aprender en una institución académica reconocida internacionalmente como una de las mejores del mundo en la enseñanza de Business.
Además de estas jornadas, IE University organiza, en su apuesta por las nuevas tecnologías, una serie de sesiones virtuales de información, de tal manera que cualquier persona, independientemente de la zona del mundo donde se encuentre, pueda conocer con detalle aspectos como la oferta académica de la universidad, los programas de ayudas y becas o las actividades extracurriculares que organiza IE University para sus alumnos.
Estas jornadas temáticas tendrán su continuación los días 13 de marzo (Architecture y Biology) y 17 de abril (Communication, Art History y Psychology). As of Tuesday March 16th 2010, IE University will deliver content on iTunes U. The launch of thirty new videos covering the Schools of Architecture, Communications, Art & Humanities, Psychology and Biology will enable users to learn more about the Segovia-based University. The content will consist of knowledge pills, professor discussions and interviews. This free information offered by IE University “is an innovative delivery method for sharing educational resources. An important step on the digital revolution ladder, iTunes U will, in the near future be a fundamental hub of shared knowledge,” says Juan Luis Martínez, Vice-Rector of Coordination at IE University.
