A group of a hundred and seventy students from the French University Sciences Po shared academic activities with other fellow students from the IE University campus in Segovia and in Madrid as part of the winter school program that the French higher education center holds in Spain. 

The event that took place last 19th of January was inaugurated in Madrid by the Counselor Minister of the French Embassy in Spain, Cyrille Rogeau, the Dean of IE International Relations School Arantza de Areilza and the Director of the Euro-Latin-American campus of Poitiers , Tilman Turpin. 

The opening conference was hosted by Daniel Kselman, Academic Director and professor at the IE School of International Relations. He explained to the students the most important challenges of the democracy of the XXI century.

Later on, the students got the opportunity to visit the IE Univeristy campus in Madrid followed by a visit to the campus in Segovia, located at the olden Santa Cruz la Real Convent. Along with the Sciences Po students,  IE University International Relations students also joined in a handful of workshops organized by the IE professors of this degree. These workshops comprised various topics based on international current affairs such as the social entrepreneurship, the present economic crisis, the role of the international interference in armed conflicts, environmental politics,  Arabic transactions and the future of Islamic politics.

Estudiantes de Sciences Po y de IE University compartieron actividades académicas

Un grupo de ciento setenta alumnos de la universidad francesa Sciences Po compartieron actividades académicas con estudiantes de los campus de IE University en Segovia y Madrid en el marco de la escuela de invierno que el reconocido centro de educación superior galo celebra en España.

La jornada, que se desarrolló el pasado 19 de enero, fue inaugurada en Madrid por Ministro Consejero de la Embajada de Francia en España, Cyrille Rogeau, la Decana de IE School of International Relations Arantza de Areilza y el Director del Campus euro-latino-americano en Poitiers Tilman Turpin.

La conferencia inaugural fue impartida por Daniel Kselman, Director Académico y profesor de IE School of International Relations, que explicó a los alumnos lo principales retos y desafíos de la democracia en el siglo XXI.

A continuación, los estudiantes visitaron el Campus de IE University en Madrid y se trasladaron al Campus de Segovia, situado en el antiguo Convento de Santa Cruz la Real. Allí asistieron junto a los alumnos que cursan Relaciones Internacionales a un conjunto de talleres organizados por los profesores de este grado de IE University. Estos workshops abordaron diversos temas de actualidad internacional: el emprendimiento social, la crisis económica europea, el papel de las intervenciones internacionales en conflictos armados, la política medioambiental, las transiciones árabes y el futuro del islam político.
