RDR_7063Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will subsidies the scholarship “Young Talent Leader” valued at 120.000€ which will permit an outstanding Uruguayan student to study at IE University 

Jose Benjumea, Operations Director of Fotowatio Renewable Ventures and Rafael Puyol, Vice-president of IE Univeristy signed an agreement at the IE Madrid campus in which the leading global operators in photovoltaic and thermosolar energy and the Inter-American Development Bank will offer a scholarship “Young Talent Leaders” valued in 120.00€ which will cover the totality of the cost of an undergraduate degree at IE University for a n Uruguayan student that is able to demonstrate academic merits and a personal initiative of entrepreneurship and achievement.

FRV stays firm to its compromise to contribute to the economic and social development in markets and in other portfolios. The participants of the agreement are IE Univeristy, in collaboration with the IDB with who FRV has signed an initial financial agreement of a solar project in Uruguay which comprises the company’s actions that are aimed to pursue development in the communities in which it is present.

The scholarship covers up admission fees, boarding and lodging, academic material and travelling aid in Spain for the four year duration of the degree in IE University.

Jose Benjumea expressed his appreciation and gratefulness to IE University for this opportunity, through a prestigious scholarship, that encourages and gives an excellent education to a student from Uruguay.

RDR_7084The scholarship program “Young Talent Leaders” permits that one the best national and international talents get the chance to receive an education from IE , an international recognized institution on academic and on professional levels, organizations like FRV, Quiron Group of Hospitals and AJE ( one of the largest beverage firms) have joined hands.

Alejandro Alvarez Vongustedt, representative of Europe for the Inter-American Development Bank, Borja Guinea, Regional Director for Latin American of FRV, Santiago Iñiguez, President of IE Univeristy and Diego de Alcazar, President on the IE Foundation attended the signing of the agreement.

In last few years, IE University students from 90 different nationalities along with IE Foundation pursue an important scholarship program, with an estimated value of six million euros per year, with the objective that no brilliant student is forced to discontinue their degree due to an economic reason.

The scholarship covers a large part of student possibilities subject to their studies, the degree that they wish to take and the creative and academic merits.

One of the known examples is the sector scholarships offered in partnership with law firms like Cuatrecasas, Clifford Chance, or Pérez Llorca amongst others. Also, IE Univeristy offers a scholarship for students of the International Bachellorate or those who have studied at UNW, “fellowship” scholarships in which students volunteer in the university community whilst studying.

Last year, from the total of applicants to scholarships 65% were approved and currently, 55% of the IE Univeristy students are receiving financial help to study.
