Professor Marco de Benito speaks in China on the role of Supreme Courts

benitochinaOn April 12 and 13 an international conference was held in Peking to compare the role of the Supreme Courts in China and a selection of Western, mainly European countries.

The conference was hosted by Professor Fu Yulin (Peking University Law School) and Professor C. H. Remco Van Rhee (Maastricht University). Among the speakers were a select representation of Chinese professors, judges, and practitioners, together with Professors Neil Andrews (Cambridge), Elisabetta Silvestri (Pavia), Frédérique Ferrand (Lyon) Alan Uzelac (Zagreb), Jorn Oyrehagen Sunde (Bergen), Tanja Domej (Zurich), C. H. Remco Van Rhee and Remme Verkerk (Maastricht), Pablo Bravo (Chile), and Marco de Benito (IE University).

The comparative discussion was lively and successful. The final results will be published in English and Chinese respectively in Europe (Springer press) and China (Beijing University Press).
