IE University will be on the spotlight again on Going Global, the international British Council Conference that will gather more than a thousand representatives from universities all over the world, on Miami from April 29th to May 1st

Going-GlobalAmong the speakers, we may find the General Director for International Relations for IE, María Eugenia Marín, which will participate on the panel of “EMI: lessons for and from Latin America“,. There, she will explain IE University’s bet for English as lingua franca for higher education. In this panel, moderated by John Knagg, British Council’s Senior Advisor, will talk too Joaquín Guerra, the Vice-Rector of TEC Monterrey, and a professor from UNICAMP, Brazil.

Going Global is a series of education international conferences organized by the British Council. They offer a place to debate the latest trends in higher education for policy makers and experts from all over the world. From 2004, Going Global has transformed from a biannual event on the UK to an annual conference alternating its location from Britain to other countries each two years. Each year a thousand delegates from all higher education sectors will participate, offering a view from all the institutions and organizations with perspectives on international education.

This collaboration with the Going Global Miami conference is framed in the partnership that IE University and the British Council have shared for other events such as the conference “The Role of English in Higher Education: Issues, Policy and Practice”, celebrated last November in Segovia; and the involvement of professors María Eugenia Marín and Adriana Ángel on the EMI Oxford launch, the Centre for Research and Development on English as Medium of Instruction, by the Oxford University.
